I am Sidra Effendi, a Research Associate at the University of Michigan, working on online safety.
With a Masters in Information from the University of Michigan-Ann Arbor, I have worked on impactful projects, including leading the development of an NLP platform for UN OCHA ReliefWeb, which was a success and will be adopted into their tech stack . At May Mobility, I built real-time data visualization web-apps and ensured data integrity for autonomous vehicles using AWS and Databricks.
Before grad school, I worked as a software engineer and launched my own startup as CTO, sparking my passion for building products that solve real-world problems. My technical expertise spans Python, JavaScript, AWS, TensorFlow, and more, but what excites me most is bridging the gap between technology and business to create meaningful solutions.
